FD3s Transmission Brace Installation Instructions

 

 

Please read and follow instructions carefully to ensure correct installation

Transmission Brace Kit Contents:

 

Procedure

  1. Jack up the front of the car and support securely on jack stands. Failure to do so can result in injury or death. DO NOT place any part of your body under the car when only supported by a jack.
  2. Using 10mm socket, remove the aluminum transmission underbelly tray, if applicable.
  3. Using 12mm socket, remove two bolts on driver-side of aluminum transmission tunnel brace, and loosen two bolts on passenger-side.
  4. Using 21mm socket, remove 2 lower transmission / PPF nuts only.
  5. Install brace as pictured (pic #1) using 13mm supplied bolts & washers, and previously removed 21mm nuts.
  6. Tighten to following torque specifications:
      • 13mm Bolts: 13 -19 ft-lbf
      • 21mm Nuts: 109 -130 ft-lbf
  7. Reinstall aluminum underbelly tray, if applicable (pic #2).
  8. Lower car and enjoy your new transmission brace.

NOTE: Installation of this brace can transmit vibration depending on the vehicle. We do not recommend installing this brace on your vehicle if you are concerned about vibration.
